Freelance Work
Reliance Safety Signs
www.reliancesafetysigns.comI have worked with Reliance Safety Signs (formerly Shield Signs, and GC Labels before that) for over 15 years. Originally they came to me to design a simple "brochure site" to give them a web presence.
After several years, they realized they needed to offer their products for sale online in order to keep up with the competition. I used SQL Server to store their product and customer information and ASP to access that data and display it on the page. I also developed a database driven cart system to allow ordering.
Since then, we converted to PHP (Symfony) and MySQL with a responsive front-end. The shipping prices are pulled directly from the UPS shipping API via AJAX calls and the credit card processing is integrated into Square's API.
Sonas Financial
www.sonasfinancial.comI have worked with Sonas Financial since it's inception in 2002 when I designed the logo and applied that logo to the design of the business cards, letterheads, and other business related material. A website and other marketing and sales material came shortly after that.
I continue to provide Sonas with Search Engine Optimaztion (SEO) advice and making updates to the website. I'm also working on an plan for their initial foray into social media.
Crew Lawn and Landscape
www.crew-lawn.comI developed the site for Crew Lawn and Landscape to give them a web presence, to allow customers to find them quickly via search engines, and to accept payments online from customers.
In order to take payments, I integrated the site with PayPal. This allowed the user to use any type of payment they wanted without requiring the client to invest in better hosting, SSL certificates, a payment gateway, and other technologies associated with accepting payments online.
Zen-Tel
www.zen-tel.comI worked with Zen-Tel to develop a new website and put their entire product catalog online. The challenge was adding an administration tool to allow the company to enter new products and remove products they no longer offered.
The site was built with PHP5 and MySQL database on the backend.
